Nong Khiaw Adventures 3 days 2 nights package is a perfect rural escape just a 3.5 hours north-east of Luang Prabang. Surrounded by stunning stone-cliff mountainous forests and situated at the bank of the Nam Ou River, Nong Khiaw is a popular tourist destination because of the walking and cycling routes near the village and the mountain-climbing opportunities. it has a tranquil, rustic atmosphere and history.
This morning you will board a slow boat for a trip up the Nam Ou River. Travel up the tranquil river, flanked by mountains and small villages, until you reach Muang Ngoi, a quaint village nestled in the foothills of giant limestone karsts. The town is only accessible by boat and has only one main street that remains unpaved. Visit the village and walk to nearby caves, Tham Kang before enjoying a picnic lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, cruise upstream to Ban Sop Cham, a textile weaving village before cruise back to Nong Khiaw. At Ban Sop Kong, you will make a stop and visit Tad Mok waterfall on foot. Swim in the cool river or purchase a drink at a nearby cafe before cruise back to Nong Khiaw. In the late afternoon enjoy free time to enjoy the idyllic river scenery as the Nam Ou flows idly past this stunning riverside town. Lunch included.
Rise early this morning for a short trek to Phou Pha Daeng mountain top for Sunrise and panoramic view of Nong Khiaw town and its surroundings. After breakfast, you will travel to Luang Prabang by vehicle. On the way back to Luang Prabang, take ferry across the Mekong to visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. Locally referred to as Tam Ting, these two caves are carved out of towering limestone cliffs and contain thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues. Continue to Luang Prabang by vehicle.
